I.
Mr. Obama went to Oslo
A prize to receive
A speech he gave
Was it for war or for peace?
A realist he was
But idealist, too
He pointed towards peace
From the world that is so
A surge, he said,
Is the way to go
30,000 more troops
Will just have to do
We’ll be in their land,
Be right in their face
What else do they know?
What more do they want?
Jobs, agriculture, health care,
Education, reconstruction
You name it
They want it
Freedom. They want to be
Who they are
But not to the tune
Of the US of A
II.
Mr. Obama went to Oslo
To receive his prize
Was it for war for peace?
We’ll have to decide.
Is it peace that we want?
Well, bring our troops home
Healthcare, education
You name it
We need it
War is costly
In dollars and humans
Peace costs, too
But is better for us
War is work and peace is, too
War seems sexy, but peace does not
War does destroy, but peace builds up
Peace brings joy and happiness
And comes by love
